DVI Splitter Reduces Performance?

Hi I am new to the dual monitor industry and would like to know if having a dvi splitter for a 144hz monitor asus. + a 60Hz AOC monitor would mean the 144hz would bottleneck to 60Hz because of the splitter or not.

I feel stupid for not knowing the answer but I just wanna know.

You wouldn't use a splitter, you would use two different outputs on your GPU to provide display to each monitor.

A splitter would clone the displays and would be limited to a resolution and refresh rate that both monitors support.
