[SOLVED] DVI to Displayport adapter not working 144hz on benq xl2411. How to fix?

So i recently built a new pc and the graphics card only has 3 displayports and no dvi while the monitor only has a dvi port. Then i decided to buy a dvi to displayport adapter but it doesn't work 144hz either. I'm confused because in the site they said that it does indeed work 1920x1080 144hz so i think it might be my end then. Also this is the product im talking about.
