Question DVI to DP adapter on an old monitor

I have a 2070 Super and an ACER XF270HF, no problems there.

However, I would like to keep on of my old monitors working (an ACER G245HQ) as a Netflix monitor. I have the Cirago DP to DVI adapter and I just can't get the monitor to connect. It says input not supported, though it did connect once during a power cycle and was stuck at 640 resolution. Are there any known fixes to get this working or is the monitor just too old?

Take a look at the reviews for that adapter:

Doesn't seem to be of any real quality at all.

Sure, there are ways to get it to work - but that'll require a legit, active adapter, of known good quality.
Unfortunately, those aren't particularly cheap. To only do 1080p 60Hz, they don;'t need to break the bank, but they'd likely be ~$30 easy.

Given you can have a 1080p panel with native DisplayPort for ~$100, and an HDMI comparable for ~$75.... you'd probably be better off trying to sell your G245HQ and putting that cash, together with what you would spend on an adapter... and just having something with native support.

DP 1080p (and 75Hz): https://pcpartpicker.com/product/YVkj4D/asus-vp228qg-215-1920x1080-75-hz-monitor-vp228qg
