Hello everyone, can i connect my two old 1680x1050 monitors to my new GPU 980 Strix. Should i use some kind of DVI to VGA connector and an HDMI to VGA.I really don't want to buy new monitors so yeah.I don't really need 1080p gaming. Also i know that it's an overkill.
I think i will need some new cables tho.My monitors are:

Samsung SyncMaster 2253bw 1680x1050
LG Flatron W2252TQ 1680x1050

Solution
Use the DVI inputs on both monitors.

For one of the monitors you can use an HDMI-to-DVI cable or adapter. This doesn't require an active converter.

If you were to go from HDMI to VGA you would need to buy an active converter that converts the digital HDMI signal from the graphics card into the analog VGA signal that the monitor's VGA port requires.

Forgot the one DVI, one monitor using the DVI, and then get a cheap adapter like above to run a HDMI cable to the 2nd monitor. HDMI carries DVI and audio signals.

DVI to DVI cable to monitor 1
HDMI to HDMI cable to GE adapter to monitor 2

Walmart should have the $6 adapter and a $10 or less 6ft HDMI cable to get up and running today no need to order something.

I am waiting for my new PC Case and motherboard and i can't test if it's going to work, i don't know the difference between the DVI-I , DVI-D , (Dual and single link) i know that the older GPU's have two DVI ports, and the 980 have only 1 DVI. I hope it works... Why the 780ti have two DVI ports?

VGA was phased out in 2015.

DVI will also be phased out soon, too.

So i can use my white DVI cables to connect my main monitor which will be the Samsung SyncMaster 2253bw 1680x1050 , and i have to buy an HDMI to DVI (or to VGA) to connect my second LG monitor? (LG monitor also have ports for DVI and VGA)

Yes, It would be better to use DVI for primary display and HDMI to DVI for secondary display as both are digital.

Buy the HDMI female to DVI male adaptor and put it on the monitor, then use a HDMI cable to the GPU and the adapter on the monitor.
