Hey all,

I'm thinking of getting 3 24" for a new PC build of mine. I only have 2 HDMI ports with my graphics cards so the 3rd monitor will have to use DVI.

Will the 3rd monitor achieve the same resolution/quality as the two HDMI connected panels?

Thanks!

Solution
If you can. HDMI is only preferable to DVI for two things: Sending protected content (DRM), and including other information like audio and ethernet. Otherwise DVI is better.

I don't know that there is more lag on HDMI for sure, but a friend of mine was having a specific lag issue which he solved by switching away from HDMI.
It should. I think dual link DVI-D has more bandwidth than HDMI, so it should be better.

There's a slim chance you might hit some syncing issues between HDMI and DVI (one monitor might be a frame ahead of the others), but probably not.

Ah, so you're saying I should just put all of them on DIV then
