DX-9 - compatibility?

*** Some new programs that I must install,need direct x 9,but my ATI Radeon
9000 Pro does not support DX9...Is that problem and can be confusion - new
DX9 with my card.
(My config: P4/1800Mhz/1Gb ram/Ieee 1394/DC10+ video card/two HD*120 GB...

Any suggestions?

Direct3D is only one component of DX9, you won't have problems, your
card just won't be able to run DX9 level graphics, games will use DX8
mode instead.

Some cards with DX9 hardware implementation just mean they can execute DX9
faster. Older cards just need download DX9b from Microsoft web site, they
execute DX9b in software just as well.
