I have a new DX6490 camera that I bought and put away and never used. Now I want to use it. The user's guide says that it supports Windows OS up to XP. I have VISTA. Can I install and use the software? Kodak no longer provides support for the camera. If the software will install, can I use the docking port if I can find one plus the USB cables?

If the answer is no to these qusetions, is there some way to transfer photos from the camera to the computer?
I assume the camera will take pictures. Thank you.

Mike

Just buy an SD card reader (I assume your camera card type is SD) which plugs into your computer's USB port.

When you've got pics to transfer, remove the SD card from the camera and push it into the appropriate slot on the card reader. Windows should automatically open a window, and in that window will be a folder containing the pics on the card.

Much easier than fiddling with your camera and a cable, and no software required.

xcellent solution!. Thank you.
