I'm going to be using either Dxtory or Fraps for my recordings, but I can't decide to either use my Main OS drive (SSD), or my 1 TB HDD for recording. I use a Samsung 840 EVO 250 GB SSD as my main drive, and have an 1 TB HDD, but I get write speeds averaging from 70-80 mb/s read and write with the HDD. On the other hand, I have the SSD, with 500+ mb/s read and write, and when I enable the RAPID mode, I sometimes even reach 1000 mb/s. Clearly my SSD is faster, but if I were to use my main drive (SDD) to record on, would that cause problems or damage anything? Or even cause any kind of lag? Also, I heard that recording to your main drive can slow things down, and because it's an SSD it will hurt it's performance and lifespan, is this true?
