Question Dying light 2 running poorly even though I'm getting high FPS.

I have an RTX 3070, 32 GB RAM and a 12th Gen i5 12400F. I'm getting 70-100 FPS in Dying light 2 but it looks like 35-40. I'm playing at high settings with no ray tracing and no vsync and 1080p. This is the only game I've encountered such a problem in. Can someone please tell me how to fix this?

I would recommend some of these steps:

1. Verify integrity of the installation files
2. Run Application as Administrator
3. Uninstall and reinstall
4. Update Graphic Drivers (Just in case)
5. Check Monitor refresh rate
6. If all else fails you could try to use another monitor to see if you get the same result

I just started playing the game and found the Alex Battaglia Optimized Settings guide from Digital Foundry to be pretty useful. Having just an 8700K and GTX 1080, I'm not getting quite the FPS you are, but am not experiencing the problem you described.

The game became okay for the most part. I realized that before while my FPS was around 70-100, the 99% was around 40-50. In any case, definitely shouldn't happen with a 3070. It fixed itself a bit and I'm now getting 70-80 99% FPS. Still lower than the main counter though. Idk what the problem is. I will try your suggestions. Thanks again!
