i have got dying light a first person pakor game and im having problems with it running in terms of performance. at the moment i have the game running with all the settings on low and the lowest res it can do without windowed i run the game for 5 minutes its fine i get about 40 to 50 fps maybe after 5 minutes im getting barely 10 fps, now i know this game can run on my pc because i got it as soon as it came out and it ran fine in 900p with the settings on normal to high ran about 30 fps maybe 60 depending on where you are. what have i done wrong if any and how can i fix this? also can someone tell me the best optimized setting for this game in conjunction to my specs.

im suspecting that maybe my hardware is overheating because after and during playing any game on my system my tower gets really really hot so im thinking that some of my fans need a good clean

8gb ram
i3 3240 3.4ghz
gtx 650 ti 1gb asus

Check ram usage. That game is eating ram over time, errors, low fps, stuttering is common problem. SSD and 16gb ram without pagefile works in my case, I know because I had 8gb ram at one point and no ssd. Check ram usage definitely, perhaps if that is a issue you can adjust pagefile.
Overheating is possible but I think there is a higher chance that it is a bitcoin mining virus, i had the same problem with my pc and it was the miner virus in the end, you can get rid of it with a good virus scanner like avira free and also with the use of malwarebytes
