Dying Light Save

I download a Dying Light and i want to go online but the problem is mine is pirated just from torrent and i want to buy from Steam the question is Can i transfer the save game file to the Steam ?

I'm sure there's a way by transferring the file to the right folder, but Steam might not like the save from a pirated copy, even if you've gone legit.

Not going into detail because this is might not be allowed on the forums, but I'm no mod so I could be wrong.

Be prepared to start over, it might be worth it if there's been patches or add-ons.
