I have a 165hz screen that doesn't support DRR at all but gsync works perfectly through nvidia. Thats why I am so confused. I usually run everything in optimus which is nvidias version of DRR but windows doesnt recognize anything. Really janky software between the two companies its been like a decade and they still act like they duno each other. lolClick on Refresh rate drop down icon and choose max refresh rate available.
Click on Display Information drop down icon.
It will tell you, what variable refresh rate ranges are supported.
Generally dynamic refresh rate is supported on high refresh screens (120Hz, 144Hz, 165Hz, 240Hz).
If you have 60Hz screen, then it probably isn't supported.

They both lower refresh rate to match output is what im putting together. my computer can do variable refresh rate via windows 11 too it just doesn't want to make it smart as optimus. Optimus is an asus ROG nvidia thing that does exactly what DRR says it can do but through nvidia. Windows 11 just doesn't put the two together. Different from gsync yeh.. Different from optimus its the same thing. I was thinking it would work if i changed the display to gpu only but it still doesnt put that together either. I unplugged thinking maybe it wants it in power battery mode or something. Nothing, its no big deal i just dont like anything that doesnt work on my pc. Gsync is meant for matching refresh rate to fps in games.
Those are different technologies. Enabling gsync may disable dynamic refresh rate.
