I can’t play any commercial dvd in my laptop. I go in to computer and double click on the movie and it gives me the e application not found, and dvd usb players don’t work either.
I can copy videos off non retail dvd and play them with WMP so I don’t think its WMP because of that and I can pay just about any digital form of videos. Ive tried installing codecs, doesn’t work, tried drivers, doesn’t work. Tried uninstalling both and reinstalling both doesn’t work, tried turnin on and off windows features still doesn’t work. Disabled restarted and enabled the driver still no. what is wrong with this computer, nothing I do will work!
This is the g750JX-RB71 model laptop I added ram so I have 32Gb and a 1Tb RAID 0 drive(2 500GB SSD) and installed win8. I also have an extended warranty. All my grandparents are telling me that MicroCenter will not fix it because I added that stuff. What do I do? Im under stress because it is an expensive computer and it is not working.
So should I try to keep downloading codecs until one works take it back and have them fix it? Any one know of a fix? Links to pages that may have fixed? (and yes iv done the entire first page on Google for “e application not found”)
Could a clean install fix this?

start here: http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1909014/windows-1pro-dvd-playback-ripping.html

My assumption would be that there is no association set up for your device to play back dvd video. You insert the disc and it doesn't know what you want to to with it, basically.

K-lite and VLC should (if memory serves) play back retail DVDs and will establish associations during install.

It's also possible you have auto-play turned off, so it's not asking you what you want to do with it.
If that's the case, you can re-enable autoplay using the tutorial below:

Thanks that worked, if I put a disk in I just need to start it in VLC. my auto play was off but I set it that way because I don't like things popping up every time I plug something in. I can just set it to default to VCL when I put a DVD in.
Although im confused on what K-lite does? I didn't install k-lite but VLC still works.

K-Lite is a compiled set of system codecs. Media players can take advantage of these system codecs to play files they wouldn't normally support. For Example Windows Media Player can play an h264 .mkv file that it may not be able to normally, or a .flac file. VLC can use system codecs too, but it uses the internal codecs by default.
