E Mail system for Windows 7

Hello,
I have just got a new Laptop -Windows 7. No software on computer. What Email system (Not Web based) is the best for this. We had Outlook Express on an XP system and have Windows Mail on a Vista desktop.
This is just a Home computer.
Don't want to have to spend out on expensive system!

Microsoft windows live essentials will give you your e-mail plus a couple of other handy programs. http://explore.live.com/windows-live-essentials?os=other Open office is free for word processing etc. http://www.openoffice.org/

For non web based you can use Thunderbird, it's free.
