That is actually a nice OC, but what cooling are you using?

have you considered lovering the CPU multiplier and raising the FSB?

Hitting 9 x 333 should be possible.

thanks for the reply, below is my spec
MSI P35 Neo2-fr
E2180
Zalman CNPS9700LED heatsink
2x1GB Kingston 667 RAM
8500GT 512MB
Thermaltake Suprano case

as im a noob at this overclocking I just wondered if my spec I had put my cpu to was any good? is the voltage ok etc?

Once again, thanks for the reply

Well it's a good OC, you could probably push it further, depending on the temperature of your CPU under load.

Your memory is probably KVR memory and should be able to hit 400 MHz with those relaxed timing constrains and maybe 1.9 volt of juice, but I can't guarantee this.

the voltage for the CPU is fine, you are 0.25 volt above standard and you have a good heatsink, if the temperatur is fine, read the OC guide to calculate this, you could probably push further if you need it or want to. Just remember hitting 3 GHz on an E2XXX is often easy, it's the next 200-300 MHz that are often difficult.

Well it's only a Successful OC IF and ONLY if you Pass Prime95 for 8+hrs. Not sure what others mean by "good OC". ;)

The sweet spot for the E2xxx (mainly the E2160/2180) the 3.1-3.2Ghz.

This is when you call an OC a success.

I have the same processor.

E2180
Gigabyte P35-S3G
2GB dual channel DDR2 PC6400 RAM

But my PC won't POST when I set the FSB any higher than 245MHz. Adjusting the voltage or multiplier didn't make a difference.

Did I just get a unit that can't be overclocked much?
