ok i have been doing a lot of rerading on this site and i bouth a new system biult around the e4300 i have the ga-965p-s3 motherbord and a gig of wintec ampo ram at a timming of 5-5-5-15 it seams to run ok at 3 gigs it gets a bit hot in speed fan on temp 2 it gets to like 53c core 0 and core 1 stay around 47c temp 1 never gets above 36c i think temp 1 is my case temp and i know what the core temps are but what are temp 2 and 3(witch is -1c) what ever that means? also another question in cpu-z under the memory tabe it says my frequency is 333.0 MHz and FSB😀RAM of a ratio of 1:1 and the rest of the timming is 5-5-5-15 dose the ratio of the fsb to ram seem right???

Your temps seem fine considering your ambient.

If you have your CPU overclocked to ~3ghz I would assume you've just bumped the FSB up to 333mhz (333x9=~3000mhz).

So if you have a 1:1 FSB😀RAM ratio then your FSB speed should match your DRAM speed which it does.

Remember DDR ram runs at double data rate so if your RAM is running at 333mhz it's really running around 666mhz which is probably what your RAM is rated at if it is not rated higher.

Everything is fine.

thanks i was just reading about how to configure speed fan im kinda lost about how to change the settings have any advice?

ok i changed temp 3 witch i pretty sure is the ambient temp to +23 and at idle temp1 38c temp2 32c temp3 22c hd0 27c core0 30c core1 29 in tat at idel is core 0 47c and core1 46c ok now under tat load temp1, 2, 3 all look ok but my cores go up to 64 in about a min or two and tat is reading at about 80 this seam high to me after only a min or two do i have the ambient temp(temp 3 in speedfan) set right or not???

h00kman2o, I usually ask the user to assemble their information into the following format, but I've done as much of it for you as I can:

From the Guide:

...there is much confusion regarding specifications, calibration offsets and test methods, so results can be difficult to decipher and compare. Therefore, when expressing Idle & Load test results, it's also necessary to define the variables...

Ambient = 23c
Chipset = 965
C2D = E4300
CPU Cooler = ?????
Frequency = 3.0 Ghz
Load = TAT 100% 10 Minutes
Motherbord = GA-965P-S3
Vcore = ?????

Tcase = 32c Idle, 53c Load (SpeedFan Temp 2: CPU)
Tjunction = 30c Idle, 64c Load (SpeedFan Hottest Core)
TAT = 47c Idle, 80c Load

If you will be so kind as to provide the missing information, then I can properly analyze your temps. Also, please verify that have you tested as shown in the Guide, with Vcore in manual, and all fans on manual 100%.

Thanks,

Comp 8)

Ambient = 23c
Chipset = 965
C2D = E4300
CPU Cooler = intel stock cooler
Frequency = 3.0 Ghz
Load = TAT 100% 10 Minutes
Motherbord = GA-965P-S3
Vcore = in the bois i have it set to normal witch is 1.325 but it seem that cpu-z changes from 1.28 to 1.34

Thanks for all your help I think I have speed fan right not sure I added 23 to temp 3 and 15 to each core speed fan’s cores now match tat temps . Now under tat stress at 3 gigs the the core temps in tat went to 80 very fast and I stopped testing. under Orthos testing the cores stay around 65 after about ½ hr. well I think that I need a dif cpu cooler to test at 3 gigs ???
