Hello to everebody,
Recently I' ve got an opportunity to build new rig. I have a choice between i7 3930k/Asus P9X79-E WS motherboard/32gb ddr3 and xeon e5-2620v3/MSI X99A Gaming 7 motherboard/32gb ddr4. GPU will be the same in any of these configurations - Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming. Any of these CPU will cost to me about 300$.Any mobo I can get about the 215$. And so the memory too have very similar price. So I'm asking You for advice with wich build I should go?

Solution
The i7-3930K is a much faster CPU and able to be overclocked while the E5-2620 v3 is a newer CPU and a newer platform. I would recommend the Xeon E5 if you don't overclock but do later intend to upgrade the CPU to a newer LGA2011-3 CPU and the i7-3930K if you want to overclock and intend to upgrade to a newer platform later rather than try to upgrade the CPU only.

Personally, I'd get the X99/E5-2620 v3 and intend to pick up a Xeon E5-2695 v3 or better at a later date when they sell for a few hundred bucks rather than $2500 or more, but that's me.

Thanks!
I'll go for LGA2011-3 platform then, it has a few important advantages for me, such as M2 which I would want to use for the system ssd drive and SATA Express ports which would be good for main storage drive. Despite the fact that Xeons are locked (and the fact that I don't need OC anyway) I'll perhaps buy a liquid cooler, just to solve any noise issues.
I'll upgrade in future to dual socket mobo and a pair of e5-2699v3, I could buy it now, but I have another thing on my wish list that'll need twice as much money as I have now and a lot of hard work to get such amount.
