e5-2620 v4 into a x79 motherboard?

It's basically in the title I'm just wondering if I buy the new E5-2620 V4, socket 2011, will it fit in my z79 motherboard?

What is the actual make/model of your motherboard? With that info, you can go to the manufacturer's support website and determine the compatible CPUs for your motherboard (and if a BIOS update is required for a newer CPU).

No, it wont fit. That Xeon is 2011-3 not 2011 so it wont work in a x79 board but may work in a x99 board(would need to check the manufacture site for supported cpus).
