So I am currently trying to build a video editing rig and a gaming rig. After a lot of research I am stuck between those 2 cpus. If I get the Xeon then I can a lot of cheap ecc ram and good rendering performance, the ryzen on the other hand is newer and faster and I thought it might keep me going for longer since it’s new.


I am gonna pair them with a 1060 6gb or a 1070 or rx 570 in crossfire.

Also I use adobe af , premier, Vegas 16 pro, and photoshop.

Well you're looking at good gaming and rendering and within a tight budget...

Try the 2600, which is comparable with the 1600x, if not better in some regards (slightly faster in some applications, and has a lower TDP).

A build? Sure. For that budget? Hmmm, nope, but consider:
