Question E5-2689 vs E5 1650 v2

Greetings!
I currently own an e5 2670 with 64 gb of ecc 1333mhz in quad channel. I want a little more punch for gaming but I cant decide between the 1650 v2 and the 2689. Which would offer better gaming performance? I am barely bottlenecked by the 2670 in most circumstances but in cpu heavy games it is constraining me. Any help would be much appreciated!

The E5-2689 was not a generally released CPU, based on the fact that it isn't listed in the Intel ARK. So, BIOS support for it may be iffy.
The E5-1650V2 has almost a 1Ghz base clock speed advantage over the E5-2670. For gaming, clock speed wins over core count. I would go with the 1650V2 for both those reasons.
