Wondering if anyone else has this setup.

I am running it at 3.43 GHZ 487 x 7 35idle 45full load rock Solid
Thermo cool NV120 ( Kicks Ass!) 1.38 volts. Try to go higher, but just freezes bout 30 seconds into Prime 95. Almost like a ram problem, but ram is actually underclocked 1:1 . Its ddr2 1066 Patriot Ram at 5-5-5-18.
Tried more volts to CPU, NB, etc.
Heat is not the issue, Maybe just tapped all this E6300 has. Would just love to get it to nice round 3.5 GHZ ;)

Looks like 487 is chip limitation. any higher then 489 and it wont POST.

I found where to lock multiplier to 6 and punched up 515 and it posted.

So rules out memory/motherboard, etc I would assume. :)

could it be that you ram runs at 1.8 volt although it should run at 2.0/2.1 to perform 1066 mhz? (1066 ram mostly are overclocked ddr2-800 with garanty)

I think the ram is ok. It default runs at 1.95v, but I have punched it up higher with no change.
Plus when I changed the multiplier and ran at 515 still posted, and theoretically it should be good to 533 fsb.

K I think that I can't help you then (since I'm not the overclocking pro)
the only other thing I could think of would be the fsb voltage but I think you already tried and raised it....

I've got a 6300 myself but mine is only running at 2.6 ghz with 1.184V:) the cooler isn't very good so my Overclocking experiences have nexer reached your dimensions

Got it to 490 fsb by upping the sb pcie/sata voltage setting. Cannot find anywhere what the max voltage this will take though. sb vcore and sb pcie/sata are 2 different settings :(

Side benefit was I got more mhz out of my video cards :)

It is worth it for the fun and personal satisfaction. :)

In real world performance, it makes little difference.
