When i OC my 6600 to 3.0 it works fine, yet when i go to 3.2 (400FSB 8multi) the screen stays black when i hit "save and exit". Any ideas why?

Just need some more info. What bios settings have u changed? Did you set your mem multiplier to 2? Also whats your vcore at?

got the computer to boot at 3.2 with fsb400 and mult to 8x by raising my vMCH a bit more. However, now when i run memtest my computer freeze completely. I just posted the issue in the general ocing thread:

http://forumz.tomshardware.com/hardware/Win-locks-running-MemTest-OCed-ftopict201983.html

here are my voltages:

vCore 1.525
vFSB 1.4
vMCH 1.6
vICH auto
vDIMM 2.2

pci freq 101
pc sync 33.3

did you lock your pci-e frequency? and that vcore is pretty high, higher than the safe zone i would say, what are your temps, what type of ram do you have? what is your cpu to ram ratio at?

lock my pci freq? Not sure what you mean but I set it to 101 (after seing someone elses post, but i think i will move it to 100 since it seems that is what more people use)

vCore: computer screen stays black if below 1.525

Memory: OCZ DDR2 800 plat rev2

cpu to ram ratio is 1:1 (running FSB at 400 and DDR2@800)

temps: idle-> 55c (taken from "coreTemp)
core temp also lists my Tcase at 85 (way too high right?) so I purchased 2 40mm fans to place on the north and south chipsets

You want it locked at 100, and I would bump up everything, especially your memory voltage, and then get a few cpu/mem tests together and start lowering things one at a time, until you have eliminated bumped voltages you don't need.

Did you use automatic memory timings? My setup refused to boot when I set the timings manually. But now I'm settled for running at 366 FSB, 9x multiplier (3.3 GHGz), this also required auto timings for memory

You may just have a bad OCer you know, its possible and shouldnt be ruled out. Still, an extra 600mhz is not too shabby and is more than enough power for a while, I mean you still got more power than an x6800.

EDIT: Also maybe you should change your sig to 3ghz not 3.2 since you havent got that far yet
