E6750 vs e7400

e6750 has 4mb L2 cache and 1333 FSB but 65nm technology

and on the other Hand

e7400 has 3mb L2 cache and 1066 FSB but 45nm technology

which will be better for gaming...?

can't seem to find a good comparison between these two on any website so i thought of making a thread myself..

6750 is old - forget about it

get the e7400, but seriously you should be looking at an AMD Athlon X4 or i5 rig - Core2's are a dead end

E6750 performs very similar to E7500 and therefore it is better.

there is no difference between e7400 and e7500

just this that the e7400 is at 2.8 ghz
and e7500 is at 2.93 ghz

that means that e7400 can compete with e7500 as well..
and even then there will be a small difference...lol..

so i still need a solid answer

According to the chart E6750 is better than E7500 in gaming, so it is better than E7400 in gaming.

Now, an E7200 will be slower, so the E6750 has an edge. How fast will the two chips be if they are overclocked. We don't know.

We do know, however, that here on THG, gamers tend to OC their computers.

I'd get an E7200.

errrr.... my bad. I thought E6750 is at bottom.

E7400 is better then.

Putting OCing aside, the E7400 runs cooler.

Gus e 7400 is better than e 6750
when u upgrade ur cpu then its realy doesn't matter that what is fsb
133 and one more mb cant give u better performance
even pentium d has 4 mb of cache but if we will compare it to core 2 duo then it will b huge diffrence perfomane

e 6750............... 65nm which means uses much energy and get hotter ,,,,,,
e 6750 clock.....2.6............ less then e 7400 2.8
e 7400......... 45nm ,,,,,,,,which means runs cooler better for overclcking, and 45 nm has more transistors than 65nm tech,, means better performance
e7400 is 1066 fsb , due to less fsb u can go higher for overclocking,,,
e 6750.... don't have sse4
e7400.... have sse4

Yep. Even the E5x00/E6x00 Pentium2Dual series with 2mb of cache performs better clock-per-clock than the 65 nm, 4mb cache E6x00 Core2Duo due to newer 45nm architecture and wolfdale core.

As zipzoomflyhigh suggested, if it is a new build then I would seriously recommend going for an AMD platform. You'll be able to build a more better gaming system for the same money and the AM3 socket will be much more future proof than the LGA775 which is on the way out. This would be a much smarter choice and will allow you an easy upgrade path for the future.

If you're gaming you could go for an Athlon II X3 or even an X4. If the budget stretches pick up a Phenom II X3/X4 chip instead. Both are good lines of CPU and perform very well in gaming for the money.
