Hello All,

The digitizer on my e7250 is slowly coming unglued from the LCD. This manifests itself as areas on the edges of the screen that look almost like air bubbles. All the pixels still work, there's just two areas that look like a bubble under the glass. A new lid assembly is typically $200 just for the part, with no guarantee it wouldn't happen again!

Does anyone know if there's a way to re-glue the digitizer? I heard that there may be, but that it's not an easy repair to do and easy to break the digitizer.

Does anyone know what glue you would use, or how this repair is done? Or for that matter does anyone here do this repair?

Thank you!

Lee

Solution
The name of the glue is liquid optically clear adhesive (LOCA). You will need to use ultraviolet light (UV) to harden the glue. The repair is fairly straightforward. You are gluing the two surfaces together. The challenge is to ensure the glue covers the entire surface to the edges and prevent air bubbles. I agree that this is not an easy repair.
