Motherboard: MSI Z170A Gaming Pro.
BIOS Ver: e7984ims.1fo

My question is would this BIOS Version be able to support next gen new Intel CPU, I've been trying to look but on the MSI website it says that the version that allows you to use other next gen CPUs, the i7-7700k for example requires version 1.6.

no. 100 series only support 6 and 7th gen

I am wondering if my motherboard, MSI Z170A Gaming Pro is compatible with the Intel i7-9700 CPU.
The MoBo supports LGA 1151 (currently using i7-6700K), and the intel i7-9700 has socket type "Intel 1151 (9th Gen)" according to the ebay page, and "FCLGA1151" according to the Intel website. My i7-6700K also uses "FCLGA1151", also according to Intel website, so I am inclined to think that my MoBo supports the i7-9700. However, when I check compatibility websites, the intel i7-9700 isn't listed under the compatible CPUs.
Are these websites just outdated for my current MoBo? Or is it actually not compatible. I'm just worried since my MoBo is quite old.
