E8200+HD 4850 = Bottleneck or no?

Hello, I am looking to buy a E8200 @ 2.66 For $99 and a HD 4850. What do you guys think about this? And will this PSU power it up?

You should be fine. The E8200 is fairly powerful and is good for overclocking.

Rosewill PSUs aren't that good...but that PSU should just be enough to power it.

Get a better one if you can.

+1 for BSOD and TwoBoxer...

That Rosewill PSU is just enough but once the CPU and the Graphics card are under full load, I doubt it will be able to handle that...

But if you are looking for that $10 discount, then get this instead of that one...

But again I would say that these are not the best of PSUs and better off spending extra $10-15 on the EA380 atleast...

As already mentioned don't get that Rosewill PSU!!!. At stock speed that E8200 is perhaps a little underpowered for that 4850, but you can change that with a mild overclock and overclock it will . I say go for it, with a better PSU of course. The Antec EarthWatts 380 will be sufficient. If you plan on using crossfire latter on down the road though you will need something a little better.

No, it's not.

A fast Core 2 Duo, will not even bottleneck the fastest GPUs around. If he had 2+ GPUs, then yes it would make a difference, but that could be mostly fixed by Overclocking the crap out of that CPU.

I assume it's a single GPU, so he can pair whatever GPU he wishes to that CPU and suffer no loss whatsoever.


To the OP: You're more than fine. Enjoy that 4850.
