E8400 idle temp too high.

I got a stock clocked e8400 and seated a XIGMATEK HDT-SD964 on it. But It was REALLY REALLY hard to seat and I almost broke mobo to seat this, not kidding.. This heatsink got some height problems and with really high force, i finally seated it..

cpu temp (idle) is around 27-33 degrees but core temps are around 47-50, i have seen 63 degrees max on games. I know it is really high even it is stock. It is a c0 revision, known with heat problems (?). I want to ask you "why". Is it because of revision or heatsink or thermal paste or what ?

by the way, vid is : 1.15V

there's difference between core1 and core2 temp. core1 is usually 47-50 and core2 is 40-43

I don't see anything to be concerned about. The Tcase for this processor is 72.4c while this isn't the best temperature to judge by it does give you a solid idea on temperatures that you should try to stay below under load.

Thanks for the answer. I am just planning to overclock it to 3.6 or 3.8 ghz with my p5q deluxe. And I am a bit worried about this.

If I remember right I got those same type of temperatures form my Intel® Core™ 2 Duo e6400; maybe a little higher with the stock cooler.
