e8400 Overclock temprature discrepancies

So I just finished building my system and while running benchmarks with 3dMarkVantage and Prime95 I noticed that when doing these tests my cpu cores were quite different temperature wise.

Cpu: e8400, 3.825 vcore 1.33

The cpu0 would always post at 43 degrees Celsius, while cpu1 would fluctuate from 34 idle to 44 under load, while cpu0 never changed. Whats going on?

I want to try and push my system to 4ghz and once that is done play around w/ the ram and gcard, but before I do I want to get this squared away. Thanks!

It might be faulty temperature sensor. Many e8400 chips have those.

Thanks, so if that is the case is it possible to accurately tell my Cpu Temp? or just hope for the best and if I BSoD clock back a bit.

There is no way to fix a stuck sensor, rma it if you still can. The cpu will still throttle according to thermal limit, despite having stuck sensor. So it's not good to just run with it.

use realtemp and you can check to see if your sensors are stuck.
