E8400 temp. readouts

Ok i just installed my new heatsink on my CPU. Works and looks great, so i went to the BIOS to check the temp a cool 39 C not great but ok, than i got to speedfan and it is reading the CPU case at 36C but each core at 49C i am very confused here need some help please.

Use RealTemp or some other temp reading app that uses a TJMax of 95.

Most apps use 105 which will give you results 10C higher than actual.

Isn't that still high for a new CPU cooler all the benchmarks i found where around 32 degrees C and mine if you guys are right is at 39C i just put in the like 10 min before getting those temps i heard that they go lower as a time goes on. Is that true and if not do you think it could be how i applied the thermal paste, maybe i should try the method on arctic silver 5 website. Ohh and quick question there where these weird spots on the bottom of the cooler that would not come off and it looked a little dull should i attempt to lap it so i can get a smooth clean finish

well my airflow is great i mean my HD 4850 runs at 45C, but what has me worried where the weird greish blackish spots on the bottom of my HS and i never checked if it was even flat. I think im going to take it off this weekend and try artic silver method.

You guys where right about speedfan realtemp is giving me 41C but i think i will still lap my heatsink to make shure its flat and reapply my thermal paste
