Question E850 - good one?

I want buy new PSU and 850W enough for my system.
I read that the E850 is one of the top on the tier list.. it is worth it? or some HCG-850W?

I can buy maybe Be Quiet Straight power 850W but I need to pay 50$ more.. and is platinum and not gold..

5Y / 10Y warranty is matter?

i have a Seasonic Focus PX, I can't hear it as it has a silent fan mode where it only starts the fan above 40% load and even then its quiet.

I think it depends which GPU you putting it with, I have heard of the reported spikes in high range 30 series cards causing problems for them.

Its your choice, the Bequiet is Platinum after all.

The GPU is 3080 FTW3

Both the E850 and be quiet! Straight Power 11 are good choices for the GPU you're pairing them with.

The spikes happen in higher end RTX 3000 cards (3080, 3090), they have been observed to spike in the 450W+. However, a good quality 850W PSU (both of those I mentioned) will handle them just fine. It would be helpful to know which CPU you're going to use though.

Even a well-built Gold unit will handle a 3080, but Platinum would be better.

The be quiet is 40$ more than E850

E850 has a Focus Plus Gold platform and that's a problem. Ripple goes out of spec when it reaches OPP. Why do you think Seasonic replaced Focus Plus Gold for Focus GX after 2 years where they normally work 5 years with a platform. Better get something different. Corsair RMx, be quiet Straight Power 11, MSI MPG, XPG Core Reactor, Enermax Revolution D.F. or Fractal Design ION+ for example.

But have 10 years warranty so why this important?

I see that you only told that have problems in seasonic platform and many people buy HCG and NZXT.
I like the NZXT because of the monitoring it is some gimmick but fine.

corsair have 5 years.

RMx has 10 year warranty.

RMi and HXi do as well, they're top quality units which also have the monitoring you mentioned.

Better than straight 11 pro?
The RMI is a little bit pricey.. cost more than be quiet. and only 850w

I see the NZXT E850 have better capacitors than original seasonic platform.
