I'd stick with a E8500 for $90 less or a E8400 for $100 less. Although, the E7300 looks very appealing at $145.

E0 steppings for E8x00 will come soon too, as well as price drops once Nehalem is released. I certainly like the E8600, I just don't like its $90 premium over the E8500.

I'd like to know what the max stable speed is on air. I can care less about a cpu-z screenshot. Those are easy to get. I got a 3.8 on a e2180 before but it would only run 3.2 on air. I hope the benches start pouring in.

Any news of other Intel releases for the Wolfdale and Yorkfield? Any good reference site (don't say google, I've been looking for this info for the past 30 minutes)? I only know about the Q9650 which is just like the QX9650, but with locked multiplier. Is there any plan for an non-extreme QX9770?

New Quads are due to be released Aug 10th.

There are no plans for any more High-End C2Quads at this point in time.
There has been some discussion of a very low 8xxx Quads.
