Earbud Mic detected on PC but not working

I just built my first gaming PC and right now all I have is some cheap skullcandy earbuds that arent meant for gaming but do have a mic. These earbuds work fine on my ps4 and they do pick up my pc's audio. The PC doesnt not pick up the earbuds audio though, I have been messing around with the "manage audio" settings for windows 10 but its still does not pick up the mic audio, please help
i'm using an asrock H110-ITX/ac mother board

got a link to the earbuds you actually have though?

PCs typically don't have combo mic+earphone inputs, so they need to be two separate cords. Laptops have it, but Desktops split those feature up.
