Question Easiest way to cast youtube to non smart tv?

For person over 70 using iphone and ipad, surely having difficulty in new stuff
Only devices on hand, their phones amd pad, tv, router

Get an Apple TV
That way they can cast from their iPad or iPhone right to the Apple TV and it will be displayed up on the TV screen

Note this is not a television set it is a streaming unit that plugs into the TV and works with Wi-Fi or ethernet

do they have cable? many cable boxes now have youtube and netflix built right in.

easiest option though is something like a roku or apple tv streams directly and won't need to "cast" from another device. they plug into the tv and use wifi to access many different streaming services including youtube

Roku will probably be your best bet. Once set up it's easy to use. Most streaming apps can be installed. I think you can also cast iPhone to some roku boxes.
