Question Easy and Clear Disk cataloging Software?

I have many many CD's/DVD backups and several computers and I would like to know what files are where.

In the 1990s, this was easy to use but now I haven't been able to find a good program to do it. Preferably looking for freeware.

What are your requirements; i.e., what do you consider "good"? Try to quantify the requirements.

For example do you want speed, command line format, GUI.

Do you want to be able to do some customization? Macros?

Maybe a database format...

What other programs did you try and why were those programs rejected?

Do you just want a list of all files in all folders that shows all the file names?

One drive at a time....12,220 files named on this drive; 3998 files named on that drive, etc?

I want something that has a simple interface and just does one thing, well, what I asked for. I want to see file names, size, and date. File extensions.

I forgot the names of the programs, it was years ago and I gave up quickly.

One that I can notate the titles so that I can tell it what computer, what drive, what name on CD, etc.
