So, I bought a new case, because I got tired of crawling around behind my PC to use Skype. (Er, my old case didn't have front-facing headphone/mic ports.)

In the category of "should have thought of this before now": Am I going to be able to connect the front-facing ports to the old Audigy soundcard I have?

Yes. Read <A HREF="http://www.driverheaven.net/showthread.php?t=51279" target="_new">this</A>. Read down and check the other posts for even more info.

Wow! That's... amazing. I mean, it's surprisingly hard to do this. I'm not sure what I'm more surprised by: a) That Creative makes this so hard b) That so many people have front panels & Creative cards -- I mean, are all these cases out there with dead ports? Or, is it really that unusual to use PCI audio?

I believe Creative wants you to buy their front panels and won't share their pin info. But, if you read some of the posts at DriverHeaven, people will get the information anyway.
