In the Main Quest to become Horator of Redoran, you must kill Bolvyn
Venim in the Arena in Vivec. He is wearing a full suit of ebony
armor, except the helmet. You can find an ebony helmet in Sarano
Ancestral Tomb, just north of the Fields of Kummu. Otherwise, ebony
and daedric armor can be found in Daedric ruins.

Spoilers follow

There is a nearly complete set of ebony armor on a warrior mage at the
bottom of the ruin next to Ald Velothi. You will need some ability to
fly and/or magic-transport to get out, however.

If you have Tribunal installed, Gaenor has a nearly complete set. If
you talk to him, he will later come back and attack you. This is a
very tough fight as he has incredible luck.

There is an ebony helm in one of the tombs between Pelegiad and Suran
(on the road with the Kimuu shrine) (sp?).

There is an ebondy shield on one of the warriors in the Ald Sotha
ruin.

You can have Ebony pieces made in Mournhold. There's a smith there that
makes Adamantine and Ebony armors.

A dwemer ruin northeast of Molag Mar has a vampire in a fairly complete
set.

You can find the mentioned Smith in the Craftsmens' Hall, a building in
Godsreach. He'll be on the first floor, opposite the entrance.

Visit the Council Hall in Ebonheart and find the lady
wearing red. She usually paces back and forth near the
entrance. If you wish, she can teleport you to Mournhold.

Keep in mind that Custom Armor ISN'T any different from regular Ebony or
Adamantine Armor that a character can find and/or buy in the game...

If you take him enough ebony or adamantium, he'll make you a single
armor piece of your choice. He's in the Godsreach district. Go to the
craft hall. Talk to him about custom armor (or something very similar),
and he'll give you an ingredient list.

Good point.

What this IS good for is getting that piece that you're missing. (I'm an
armor collector in game. Got multiple sets of almost everything, on
display, except Daedric.)

I collect armor and weapons as well and while I DO have a Full Set of
Daedric Armor and Weapons, I think I'm still missing a couple of pieces
of Bonemold armor which consists of several different sub types...
Granted to add Daedric Helms to my collection, I did have to go Taunting
at Ghost Gate which is not a nice thing to do, however it was the only
way I was able to get Daedric helms. 🙁

There's a Daedric helm (of terror, I think) laying loose on the
ground in a daedra shrine midway up the east cost of Morrowind. It's
the shrine with blocked doorways, that's only accessible
underground, through an ancestral tomb on a small island nearby.

IIRC, the helm is in the dark on a small ledge in the room of the
floating chest. You won't see it without light or night eye.

There's some enchanted dwemer armor laying around in there too.

Yes, and there is also a Daedric helm of some sort in the Sixth House
shrine of Mamaea -- this is the cave in the vicinity of Berandas that
has, in addition to the only Ash Vampire that can be found outside the
Ghostfence, Hanat Zainsubani contained within its passages.

Another one lies in the tomb of that dead North you get the key for from
some drunk in Vivec (Telvanni-District, I think). The tomb is located
around 3 cells northwest of Tel Branora, I think.
I have three daedric helms in total. Are there any more?

Archived from groups: alt.games.morrowind (More info?)

There are three types of Daedric helms, yes -- the Deadric Helm of Terror,
the Daedric Helm of Inspiriaton, and the Daedric God Helm --it is not true,
however, that there is only one instance of each helm in the game.

Some also say that the Helm of Clavicus Vile, which can be found on
Sorkvild
the Raven, an NPC living in a Dwemer tower on the road just outside of
Dagon
Fel, can also be classified as a Daedric helm, but the only justification
I've
seen for that thus far is that the item's ID -- Daedric_Helm_Calvicusvile
--
has the word "Daedric" in it; the thing doesn't look like a Daedric Helm
at all,
however.

I found one daedric helm in the same dungeon as the featherweight
hammer. (Do the Imperial Cult quests). It was way up on a shelf. I found
another in a shrine which had a huge vault off one side. It was sitting
right next to an index. NW of Caldera, I think.

I have no idea on where to find a chest plate or a left pauldron.

I'm faily sure that I have most sub-styles now (thank you, Tooklkit). I
have an entire room of my museum dedicated to just Morrowind specific
armors (bonemold, necht leather, chiton, Indoril, etc).

WOW, GREAT, THANKS! ^_^ I've been to that Shrine MANY Times over the
years and in all that time, NONE of my various characters have ever
noticed the Helm you found. In fact in all the time I've been playing
Morrowind, I don't remember EVER seeing a Daedric helm NOT being worn by
an NPC...

Given a choice I'd actually rather NOT Taunt someone into a fight Just
to take something they own. Which is why I've Never fought Divayth Fyr
to get his Almost Complete set of Daedric Armor after completing the
Main Quest... Though if an NPC has managed to Really Annoy my character
(me) for whatever reason, then all bets are off! <L>
>
>There's some enchanted dwemer armor laying around in there too.

I suspect that I normally find most if not all of the other items in the
Shrine since I've been there so many times and if I do miss something
minor sometimes, it's no big loss... Though it is nice to know that
there is still something new to be found in the shrine. ^_^

Since it takes such a LONG time to collect most pieces of Daedric Armor,
I honestly can't remember where I found most of the pieces in my
collection, so I'm afraid I can't tell you where to find an un owned
chest plate or left pauldron. 🙁 However IF you've completed the Main
Quest and you have no interest in joining House Telvanni, AND you don't
mind killing someone for their armor, Divayth Fyr at Tel Fry SEEMS (I've
never tried killing him) to be wearing an Almost Complete set of Daedric
Armor with only a Daedric helm being missing. Personally I'd rather NOT
kill someone just to get something they own IF I can find another of the
same item that is laying around somewhere to add to my collection,
however the choice as always is yours...

There may be another way - keep casting a disintegrate armour spell on him
until his armour breaks and ends up in his inventory, then sneak and pick
his pockets and it may be in there.... (never tried it but sounds possible!)

Your idea sounds like it's worth trying before resorting to a terminal
solution to collecting armor items from NPC's. THANKS for the
