ECC stands for Error Correction Code. Memory with it will look through the data looking for errors and if it finds some it will correct them. ECC memory is basically only for Servers, and isn't needed in normal PCs. It also brings down performance a little bit.

For most systems, non-ECC RAM is used. And I don't think that you can mix these two RAM types together.

ECC and non ECC is also known as parity and non parity, I dont know how much diff it makes as the non parity has a error correcting programme anyway

Hi everyone.

i have a cuestion are this two models of memory ram compatible KVR1333D3S9/4G and KCP313SS8/4. the first one is from medion akoya p6624 and the second one is from hp 6470b.

The question is are they compatible, the diferencies that i found betwen them are two the first one (Non-ECC CL9 SODIMM) , i don't know what does it means but this is one of the diferenses and the second is (SODIMM Single Rank).

Thank you
