Question ECC Or Normal DDR3

My question. I have a HP Z220 with a Quad core Xeon E3 1225 V2 chip. The current memory is 4GB of DDR3 EEC 1x stick. HP said this board chipset ect will take both Normal DDR3 and Server EEC DDR3. So would I be better sticking with ECC memory or would normal 1600mhz DDR3 be better for this Rig. Cheers to all

You can't mix them. So you would remove your existing RAM is you want to use non-ECC. It will probably depend on what you can find cheaper.
