Awesome. Now we just need some clear-headed thinking and morality like this in the United States government and its agencies.... Though given the low caliber of people on average who are in charge in these spheres, this will be an uphill battle, and one that average citizens must NOT lose.

While I support their privacy fight, I think the approach to walling data in national boundaries is fairly ludicrous.

If I stand up my fabulous Insta-Face-Chat service, and I host it on something like AWS, it's now virtualized. There is no strict control over where the data resides, and in fact I *want* separate locations for failsafe/redundancy reasons. But I'm instantly out of compliance with the law if the server it's on fails over to one that isn't physically next to it.
