Hello everyone!
I have an Edimax EW-7811DAC AC600 Wi-Fi Dual-Band wireless adapter (here's the link if you need it from their site: http://www.edimax.com/edimax/merchandise/merchandise_detail/data/edimax/au/wireless_adapters_ac600_dual-band/ew-7811dac/ ) and I had a bit of a problem with it recently
So the first time I bought it it had a somewhat slow internet speed, around 20-30mbps and I wasn't happy with that. What I did is I went into Device Manager, clicked on the device-> Advanced -> Wireless Mode and I turned it from "Auto" to "IEEE 802.11ac and the internet speed jumped up to 150mbps,and I was satisfied with that.
Yesterday it started to have some issues, like showing two of my home wi-fi networks instead of one (like it showed "Router 1" and "Router 2",and only connecting to Router 2 would get me very fast internet speed) and after a while I couldn't connect to any network, including ones that are my neighbours. So I went back to device manager, uninstalled the driver and let windows install it by himself. However, not only I can't connect with IEEE 802.11ac but it doesn't find any wi-fi networks, including ones that are not in my house,so it's not a problem from my router.Changing it to auto lets me connect but again, only with a 20-30 mbps speed and for gaming that is not enough.I tried restarting the router a few times, connecting the wireless adapter to other ports but no luck.
Does anyone know what the problem is? I will come back with more info if it is needed.Thank you for your time.
