Editing computer build on a low budget

hi all this is my first post in the tom's hardware forum new build

i am a video editor but unfortunately i cannot spend a lot of money on this build in fact i catered $1000 but would like to go as low as possible

i use adobe premiere, avid, ulead now corel, pinnacle etc actually i try out most of the editing software

i would like to have a system that would edit hdv achvid dv etc actually anything that can be thrown at it but on a budget

i have been searching through the forums reading i have decided that i would like an am3+ or 1155

but i notice that i hardly see amd based editing suites why is this ?

usually i copy video-guys recommended systems but cannot afford a $2000 plus system right now

i have a monitor a samsung and i have a usb 2.0 2 tb 7200 rpm external hard drive

right off the bat the 550 graphics card is terrible for its price, and since you are using a new fx amd cpu if you get an amd card, you will make the scorpius platform I suggest this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102948 it will greatly increase the performance of that build for less money. also another place to cut cost is your RAM, 16 gb is a lot and i doubt you would notice any difference between the 1866 RAM you picked out and this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231315, just a couple of suggestions, have fun with the build!

No, your psu has enough wattage and the 2 6 pin power connectors you would need. That is going to be a nice build, and should be able to tear through most of what you could throw at it nicely. If there was anything you could do it would be to get an aftermarket cpu cooler so you can overclock that processor and get free additional performance! You should be able to do a slight overclock (0.1~0.3ghz) with the stock cooler, just make sure you are constantly watching your temps. Overall it looks like you are set. good luck!

i normally build great nle suites but most times i have a good budget to work with this time we have to build on as low a budget as possible based on circumstances i asked for assistance since having some input can help clarify your own decisions

If you are using Premiere Pro 5.x don't bother with any ATi card.

ok one last thing a lot of the work will be converting one format to another e.g 1080p 24 p to mov or dvd or avi etc

time is also a factor will this system handle that with ease or should i look at the intel proocessors
