Hello friendly people out there.
I am looking for recommendations on tools etc. for creating my home
videos.
I bought a Sony DVD-camcorder for several reasons: random access to
scenes when in the field, and (what I thought) easy tranfer of footage
to my computer.
In the end I would like to create a DVD with Studio-9, Ulead or
Premiere or something.
First challenge is getting the footage from the mini-DVD to my
computer.
I have tried several ripping programs, but am not 100% satisfied.
I am using SmartRipper, because it can rip each shoot into a separat
file. I like that. I dont like that SmartRipper changes the screensize
(or what it is called) from 352x576 on the original to 704x576!!
Maybe I shouldn't be concerned, but can I be sure that nothing is
changed in the original data?
Is there a better ripper program?
Next challenge is editing the footage.
The sound is in AC3 :-(
Studio 9 refuses to play the clips.
Ulead can play them, but without the sound. I only have the trial
version, and that doesnt come with the AC3 plugin, so I have not been
able to try that.
Premiere can play the clips, but it is a very heavy program - - and
very expensive!
If possible I would prefer Studio-9.
I have just started to play with Xilisoft Video Converter. Maybe this
will do - I dont know yet.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanx for any help.
