Editing posts

Sorry if I'm putting this in wrong section.
Did a post, in a thread, and immediately realised there was an important word missing. Clicked on the edit "pen", in the bottom right corner, and added the word. When I clicked "submit", I got an error message "you are not allowed to edit this post". Am I doing something incorrectly. Sorry, but never needed to do it before (didn't I do well. lol.).

Try using the middle button (quick edit) and see if that works.
