.edu account for Windows 7 Professional?

My sister is in College, I was thinking I could take advantage of this and use her .edu Email Account for a copy of Windows 7 professional I heard it was only $64.99...I read posts of this that were about 2 years ago. Can anyone verify that this is still available? I've seen on Microsoft Shop's for Windows 7 Home Premium for $64.99 but not professional, either or they're both fine but if professional is available then great.

The deal is only for the Professional Upgrade. You need to have an original version of windows xp, vista or 7 first.

What's the cheapest way to obtain a windows xp cd so I can boot with it upon the build?

See if you can find someone who bought a computer with XP and still has the old backup CD. That way you can get it for free. Don't activate it, just install the upgrade.

Another option is to pay $80 for Win 7 OEM.

The cheaper one is "Branded" which means it is associated with Dell, HP, Lenovo etc... There may be restrictions associated with it, depending on the authorized dealer of the branded version.
