I have a genuine windows xp home gho CD(came with the Asus EEEPC), and the activation key.
My desktop has windows 10 installed.
Questions:
1. How can I convert the gho file to boot cd, so that I can install it on another desktop/laptop?
2. If I install window 7, can I use the activation key of the GHO file or I will need to install xp first and then upgrade?
3. I was unable to restore the GHO file to my current desktop, whose details are above.

I also have a genuine retail CD/DVD of windows vista business 32 bit; Is there any way to install a higher version windows, with its key?

a gho file is a ghost image, which means it's probably an image of a hard drive, so no you can't make a boot CD from that.

You can't use the key from XP to activate 7.

And exactly why could you not run the ghost image on the desktop? Was the ghost image done on that system in the first place?

The gho cd came with the eeepc, that I bought. Now I want to install higher version windows on a new system. I want to use the licence key, so that I dont have to buy a new one.

Well since you can't use an XP key to activate a Windows 7 setup, you will need a separate license anyway.

Thanks for your answer. Now I have two genuine keys which is outside the upgrade period. Microsoft should give it a consideration.
