effects of low vram?

I read in another thread that not enough vram results in lower fps or stuttering, i want to know exactly how much. i ask because the requirements for fallout 4 say that a gpu equivalent to a gtx 550 ti 2gb is needed, but i have a 560 ti (which i assumed would be fine is it is a higher gen) but systemrequirementslab says that my card wont work due to it having only 1536 MB of vram. exactly how much fps are we talking? how regular will the stuttering be if any? thanks.

you should be able to play it on medium 1080p

you just need to tweak settings
