I am using the NZXT Phantom 530 case for my build and I am aware it only comes with 1 intake and 1 exhaust fan. Its great for radiators due to its top cavity but I have trouble understanding radiators vs just putting 2 or 3 120mm fans up there. Water cooling is out of my budget and I hear the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO is enough to keep it cool under heavy loads. I would like info helping to clarify radiators vs plain old 120mm fans in the top cavity of the case.

you must have a positive air flow in the case so you may need another side fan to push air in check the speed of the one that are with the case and the cfm they have .

So 1 intake and 2 exhaust fans...is that balanced? I feel as if the should be more intake. And does the EVO exhaust towards the rear fan or towards the intake fan? Should I add any fans to the bottom?

The goal is positive airflow. More pulled in then pushed out. I don't know how good that front 200mm fan is. Typically when fans get large noise goes up. That's why I would have gone for 2x140mm as front fans but that case came with a 200mm already. Adding a bottom fan is a great choice.

The EVO fan should be installed so it pushes case air across the heatsink fins. Typically it is installed so it pushes air towards rear exhaust. Or you can switch it so it is upside down. Blowing air towards top of case.

How are your temps under load of over 30minutes?
