APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: Summer 2013 BUDGET RANGE: Max 450$ but around 350$ would be ideal. Before Rebates
USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: ( Gaming [From most to least important, Minecraft, Crysis{1,2,3}, Battlefield 3.], Web browsing, Productivity {photoshop, CAD software}
CURRENT GPU AND POWER SUPPLY: Well the system I plan on building is for a senior project in high school. But my thoughts are on getting a Seasonic PSU of required wattage and 80+ Gold or better. Currently my laptop has a first generation A4.
OTHER RELEVANT SYSTEM SPECS: Planned set up is an Intel core i5 2500k/3570k, Asus P8Z77 Mini-Itx motherboard, Corsair RAM ~8Gb, Western Digital Green 1Tb, Samsung 840 Pro 128Gb SSD, Xigmatek Gaia CPU Cooler, all in a Fractal Node 304. If there is any conflicts with my selections please tell me.
PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: newegg.com is first choice, amazon.com is last choice. COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: The United States of America
PARTS PREFERENCES: Reliable cards with constantly updated drivers, Efficiency is good for my space constraints, Quietness is a top priority. I Prefer a clean looking card with a backplate, like the EVGA rectangular cards.
OVERCLOCKING: No, if anything it's underclocking or undervolting to reach an acceptable quietness.
MONITOR RESOLUTION: 5760x1080(+bezel correction), or 4800x900(+bezel correction)
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: For as much I stretched the point of silence, it can have a subtle whoosh sound. But definitely not the sound of a jet engine, as that annoys the crap out of me. I'm not looking for cutting edge/best in the world settings, just something that's looks respectable across 3 screens. (Mid settings are fine with me). I don't like a card with flashy colors our lights, simplicity is perfection IMO. My current thoughts are a 660Ti, but that memory bandwidth just dosent seem like its able to push surround. 7950's look good on paper but I worry about the noise level. Monitors in my price range tend to have DVI, VGA(and a few with HDMI). So any thoughts on my GPU selection or build in general would be greatly appreciated.
