Egpu or budget pc build?

I have a MacBook Pro 15 2016 which I bought for school, however I have recently been looking to upgrade my pc. A little over a year ago I bought gtx 1070, however it has sat in a very outdated pc build not allowing it to show its true potential. I now am looking to upgrade my rig but am torn between egpu or making a new build. I am looking for what would be the best bang for my buck. I am notorious for not upgrading down the line so that should not be in consideration. An egpu enclosure would run me around $550 and the extensions to allow me to hook up peripherals and ethernet would run me another $150. The other option is to make a $700 pc build for a 1070, I do have 600 watt ps and a 1tb hd (I would still buy an ssd in addition) for starters. So in terms of bang for your buck what would get me better performance, a bootcamp egpu or a budget pc build?

Build up a system for that GTX1070 and enjoy it. If you wanted budget, then you would be holding a GTX1050 in your hands.
