HI! Good day to everyone.
I just wanted to seek an advise or answers regarding adding EGPU to my old laptop.

I have this old laptop HP Probook 4730s , i5 2410m with Radeon HD 7400m,
I wanted to add External GPU so i can play even low settings., I did research and found out this method using GPU dock with Mini PCIE and the other one is thru Expresscard , but i found out that my laptop model is whitelisted which means it wont accept or recognize other Mini PCie aside from its stick wifi card. My last option is using Express card since my laptop has expresscard slot but im not sure if its going to work or will it be read by my laptop bios ., that gpu dock is expensive so i wanted to be sure if its going to work and compatible, i dont want to make mistake again by buying the gpu dock but it doesnt work like what happen when i purchase the gpu dock with mini pcie.,

Any adivese is highly appreciated..
THANK YOU!

Ok, first things first.
What are you hoping to use the external GPU for? Gaming? Video/photo editing?

The laptop's specs are not good enough to have an external GPU and utilise it to the extent that you will get good performance.
The cpu is an entry level office use with low clocks and IPC that were not good for gaming even when it was released.
The max amount of RAM your laptop can have is 8GB which that alone makes it the bare minimum for gaming in 2021 (let alone video/photo edit that needs even more).

After that intro, if you still want to use an external GPU with that laptop, you find expensive the dock. Have you tried searching for any decent GPU? Their prices are skyrocketing for the past year. Even second hand GPUs are...

If I were you, I would save for a new laptop.

Thanks a lot for the advise..
I wanted to try this expresscard method because my younger brother's pc broke a month ago issue is motherboard and i was able to salvage its its graphics card (1050ti) and its monitor (to use as external of ever) also the gpu dock cost around 50 dollars in here., he does play this game called league of legends, i just want to see if its possible
to play games even in lowest settings

For league of legends you should be fine as it's not as graphically demanding as most games are.

I am not able to help you about the ExpressCard dock as I haven't used one. I can tell you for sure though that if you have less than 8GB of ram in that laptop, everything will struggle to run.
